What happens
Debris, coil restriction or physical interference reduces airflow or raises motor load.
Typical symptoms
Weak throw, vibration, noise or recurring airflow-related limits.
Checks that distinguish this cause
Safely isolate and inspect the wheel, filters, coil faces, blade clearance and mounting. Compare the actual air path with the unit’s installation requirements rather than treating rotation as proof of adequate flow.
What can look similar
A low-speed setting or louver position can change air delivery without a defective motor.
Repair direction
Clean or correct the approved air path and damaged mechanical parts without wetting electronics.
Verify the repair
Verify airflow, clearance and stable motor operation without noise or recurring limits.
Equipment-specific limits
Inverter electronics can retain dangerous DC voltage after supply isolation. Isolate all inputs, follow the specified discharge wait and prove the designated circuit safe with the OEM method. Never short a DC bus to discharge it, unplug powered motor connectors or insulation-test through connected electronics.
